COVID-19
What are our safety practices?
We frequently wash our hands throughout the day. Some staff choose to wear gloves while at the register for added protection. These are also changed often.
We wash and disinfect the tongs and trays customers use around the clock. After we place your bread in paper bags, we ask that you place both items in a cart off to the side. We then collect these to wash. Having the customer place the tongs and trays that they touch on the cart also minimizes the amount of things our staff touches, especially during high traffic times.
Our staff have their own set of tongs that only they touch.
We have dividers at both registers to protect both the client and our staff.
Without a mask mandate, customers are allowed to not wear masks in the bakery but we still have a preference that customers DO wear masks or at the very minimum are considerate of others and give others space, wait until another customer is done and has left before placing their tray on the countertop and to not shop if you are feeling sick or coughing frequently. Even if it’s not Covid-19, it’s not fun to be sick!
We clean the door handles and the glass on all of our display doors.
We operate using Square products. This means that when using a debit/credit card or NFC (mobile) payment, there is no need to touch the screen to enter a pin code or to make any other kind of selection in order for your payment to be accepted. You can swipe, insert, or tap your card. The only reason you might want to touch our screen is to enter your phone number or email so that a digital receipt is sent to you. This is optional. You may also ask for a paper receipt - this does not require touching the screen. After you enter your information once, every time you use that card, a digital receipt will be sent automatically.
In the morning, the bread that is coming out of the oven is placed at the front of the store near our registers, only the staff is able to get this bread. You may ask for whatever we have available. Our bolillo is always behind the counter as well, you may also ask for however many you’d like. Once the sweet bread is ready to place in our displays, we place them on clean trays once it’s ready to be placed in the section where it belongs.
Once you select the bread you want, you can’t return it. Please make sure you only choose what you want. If you come in the early morning, head to the front of the store to see what fresh bread we have available. By about 11am, all or most of the fresh bread that was baked that day should be on display ready to choose from. If you’re not sure of the price of something or if a bread has a filling or what it tastes like, simply ask our staff for help! Our staff primarily speaks Spanish but we will do our best to help you.
To best help our circulation, come in and get a pair of tongs and a tray (located in the center front of the store) (only necessary if you’re buying sweet bread), choose what you’d like then head to the register to pay. If you’re only buying bolillo you can head straight to the register - there is no need to get tongs or a tray, we place the bolillo directly into a paper bag. Our circulation pattern is in the shape of an oval. For interior pictures visit our About page!
We try to get you in and out as fast as possible. Please remember to leave space between yourself and other customers. Try to minimize the amount of people you bring with you to buy bread, this includes the elderly and children. If you feel sick please stay home. If you feel the need to cough or sneeze please do so outside and into your inner elbow.
If you want to buy bread over the phone visit this page for more information. Simply pick up instore!
